Whether you’re a first-timer curious about the hype or a returning fan eyeing a VIP upgrade, you’ll walk away knowing exactly how to plan your perfect polo day.

Let’s dive in.

What Is the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships?

The Scottsdale Polo Party (officially The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships) is Arizona’s premier luxury sporting event held annually at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Now in its 15th year, it combines world-class polo matches with exotic car displays, high-fashion shows, 100+ artists, 20 Arizona wineries, and a sunset afterparty. Tickets range from $40 to $725, attracting over 12,800 attendees annually.

The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships—known locally as “The Polo Party”—has evolved far beyond a traditional equestrian event since its founding in 2011.

What started with 2,500 attendees and a single polo match has transformed into what The Arizona Republic calls “polo for the masses” and the Captain of the Wales Polo Team describes as “the best polo event in the world.”

The best part?

You don’t need to know anything about polo to have an incredible time. The event masterfully blends sport, fashion, cars, art, wine, and nightlife into a single day that attracts everyone from families to luxury seekers to Instagram influencers.

📊 By the Numbers: The 2023 edition set an attendance record of 12,873 guests in a single day—making it America’s most-attended polo event. The 2026 edition marks the event’s 15th anniversary celebration.

The “Horses & Horsepower” tagline perfectly captures the vibe: world-class polo teams compete for the Molina Cup while 200+ exotic cars from Barrett-Jackson, Bentley Scottsdale, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche line the field.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Fashion Week produces “The World’s Longest Catwalk,” dogs strut in the Canine Couture show, and 20 Arizona wineries pour tastings at the WestWorld Art & Wine Experience.

Now:

Let’s get into the specifics you need to plan your visit.

Key Highlights Not to Miss

Want to know what veterans know?

These are the moments that make the Polo Party legendary:

  • The Signature Match (~2:15 PM) — The main event typically features an international team (Wales has been a fan favorite). Stake out your spot early for the best views.
  • Horse vs. Bentley Race (~3:00 PM) — A polo pony races a Bentley in an 80-yard sprint. The crowd goes wild. Every. Single. Year.
  • Canine Couture (~1:45 PM) — Dogs in designer outfits. It’s absurd, adorable, and the most Instagrammable moment of the day.
  • The Divot Stomp — Between matches, spectators walk onto the field to stomp divots back into the turf. Classic polo tradition and a great photo op.
  • Sunset AfterParty (4:00 PM+) — DJ tents take over with party vibes as the sun sets. If you’re under 40, this is where you’ll end up.

Now:

Let’s talk about the most important decision you’ll make—choosing your ticket tier.

Mid-Tier Experiences: Champagne Lounge & Gospel Brunch

It gets better:

The mid-tier options hit the sweet spot between value and experience.

Barrett-Jackson Champagne & Jazz Lounge ($95)

This is the sleeper pick. For just $50 more than GA, you get:

  • Champagne service in a refined atmosphere
  • Live jazz throughout the day
  • Preview of Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming Scottsdale auction cars
  • Covered seating with field views
  • A taste of VIP without the VIP price tag

Best for: Couples, car enthusiasts, and anyone who wants an elevated experience without going full VIP. If you’re a Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale fan, this is a no-brainer.

Gospel Brunch ($90 — Sunday Only)

A completely different vibe for day two:

  • Brunch spread with food included
  • Live gospel choir performance
  • Covered tent with field-side seating
  • Access to Sunday polo matches
  • More relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere

Best for: Foodies, families, and anyone who prefers a chill Sunday morning over Saturday’s high-energy party. Note: Reservations must be made by November 2nd.

VIP & Ultra-Premium Options

Now, this is where it gets interesting:

The VIP tiers are where the Polo Party transforms from “event” to “experience.” These aren’t just better seats—they’re entirely different events happening within the event.

Scottsdale Maserati Drivers & Players VIP Lounge ($220)

  • Access to polo players and drivers before/after matches
  • Premium bar service
  • Field-side reserved seating
  • Elevated networking opportunities
  • Maserati vehicle displays

Best for: Serious polo fans who want to meet the athletes, or business networkers looking to connect with high-net-worth individuals in a natural setting.

PRIME: A Luxury Tent Experience ($350)

This is the apex of the Polo Party experience. Presented by Bentley Scottsdale, Neiman Marcus, and Barrett-Jackson:

  • Maple & Ash dining — Chef Danny Grant (two Michelin stars from Chicago’s Maple & Ash) curates an exclusive menu
  • Premium open bar
  • Reserved seating with optimal field views
  • High-end fashion and lifestyle activations
  • The most refined atmosphere on-site

🍽️ Dining Note: Maple & Ash brings legitimate fine dining to the polo field. If you’re a foodie who appreciates the best fine dining in Scottsdale, the PRIME tent delivers a culinary experience that rivals standalone restaurants.

Best for: Luxury seekers, corporate entertaining, special occasions, or anyone who wants the absolute best the event offers.

All Access ($475-$575)

The “power user” ticket for those who want total freedom:

  • Access to ALL hospitality tents (PRIME, Maserati Lounge, Barrett-Jackson Lounge, Sanderson Lincoln Black Label)
  • Food and drinks included in all lounges
  • Valid for both Saturday and Sunday
  • Move freely between experiences all day

Gold All Access ($625-$725)

Everything in All Access, plus:

  • Million Dollar Mingle Lounge — The exclusive celebrity and VIP networking experience
  • Limited to two complimentary drinks in Million Dollar Mingle
  • Access to charity auction and celebrity appearances

Best for: Influencers, content creators, or anyone who needs to be everywhere and miss nothing. Also ideal for those attending both days who want maximum flexibility.

Bottom line:

For first-timers, start with General Admission or the Barrett-Jackson Champagne Lounge. You can always upgrade next year once you know what you love about the event.

What to Wear to the Scottsdale Polo Party

Scottsdale Polo Party outdoor elegant dress code with hats and sundresses
Outdoor Elegant: Statement hats and sundresses dominate the polo field

The official dress code is “Outdoor Elegant”—think Kentucky Derby meets Coachella meets Scottsdale luxury.

But here’s what that actually means:

This isn’t a formal gala, but it’s definitely not a casual sporting event either. Most attendees use the Polo Party as an excuse to dress up—hats are practically mandatory, and people-watching is half the fun.

Women’s Dress Code Guide

What works:

  • Sundresses and midi dresses — Flowy fabrics, floral prints, and bold colors photograph beautifully
  • Statement hats — Wide-brimmed, fascinators, or classic derby styles. Go big or go home.
  • Jumpsuits and dressy rompers — Elegant yet practical for a long day
  • Wedges or dressy flats — This is critical (more below)
  • Light layers — A blazer or cardigan for the cooler evening hours

👠 Footwear Warning: The polo field is GRASS. Stilettos and thin heels will sink with every step. Wedges, block heels, dressy sandals, or stylish flats are the move. Trust us—you’ll be walking and standing for 8+ hours.

What to avoid:

  • Stilettos or thin heels (grass nightmare)
  • All-black outfits (you’ll bake in the sun)
  • Anything too casual (jeans, sneakers, athletic wear)
  • Overly formal gowns (save those for galas)

Men’s Dress Code Guide

What works:

  • Blazers with chinos or dress shorts — The classic polo-party look
  • Button-down shirts — Linen or lightweight cotton in light colors
  • Polo shirts — Fitting, obviously
  • Colorful trousers — Salmon, light blue, or patterned pants are encouraged
  • Loafers or dressy boat shoes — Skip the sneakers
  • Optional: Panama hat or fedora — Adds instant style points

What to avoid:

  • T-shirts and cargo shorts
  • Athletic wear or sneakers
  • Dark suits (too formal, too hot)
  • Jeans (unless very dressy and paired with a blazer)

Fashion Partners & Style Inspiration

The Polo Party partners with Neiman Marcus and Being Dapper for style guidance. Phoenix Fashion Week produces the on-field fashion shows, so you’ll see runway-level looks throughout the day.

If you need outfit inspiration, browse the event’s Instagram (@thepoloparty) for photos from previous years. You’ll quickly see the range—from classic elegance to fashion-forward statements.

☀️ Sun Protection: November sun in Scottsdale is still strong. Hats serve double duty as style pieces and sun protection. Bring sunglasses and consider SPF—you’ll be outside for most of the day.

Food, Drinks & Entertainment at the Polo Party

Want to know what most guides skip?

The food and entertainment at the Polo Party could be a standalone festival. Here’s everything happening beyond the polo matches.

Dining: From Fine Dining to Food Trucks

PRIME Tent — Maple & Ash ($350 ticket required)

Chef Danny Grant brings his two-Michelin-starred expertise from Chicago’s Maple & Ash to create an exclusive field-side dining experience. This is legitimate fine dining in a polo setting—not just “event food.”

General Admission Dining Options:

  • Grimaldi’s Pizza Disco Tent — Coal-fired pizza with DJ beats
  • Food trucks — Rotating selection of local vendors
  • No-host bars — Beer, wine, cocktails throughout GA areas
  • Prosecco & Popcorn — Light bites with bubbly

🚫 No Outside Food: Outside food and drinks are NOT permitted. Plan to purchase on-site or upgrade to a VIP tier with included dining. Hydration stations with free water are available throughout the venue.

WestWorld Art & Wine Experience

Running concurrently with the polo championships:

  • 100+ nationally juried artists — Paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and more
  • 20 acclaimed Arizona wineries — Including Page Springs Cellars, Carlson Creek, 1764 Vineyards, and Birds and Barrel Vineyards
  • Wine tastings available throughout the day
  • Art purchases support local artists

The Art & Wine Experience is included with all ticket levels—it’s perfect for those breaks between matches or if polo isn’t really your thing but you want to enjoy the atmosphere.

Live Entertainment & Sunset AfterParty

The best part?

When the final polo match ends, the party is just hitting its stride.

Sunset AfterParty (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

The Polo Party transforms into a desert festival as the afternoon winds down:

  • Multiple DJ tents — Past years have featured Relentless Beats productions with national headliners
  • Party atmosphere — Casa Amigos DayClub and similar activations
  • Grimaldi’s Pizza Disco — Coal-fired pizza with DJ beats
  • Themed lounges — Champagne, cocktails, and social scene

🎵 Entertainment Note: Specific DJs and headliners for 2026 haven’t been announced yet. Follow @thepoloparty on Instagram for lineup announcements closer to the event.

Sanderson Lincoln Black Label Lounge

For those who prefer a mellower vibe: live music, champagne service, and a sophisticated alternative to the high-energy party tents.

  • Schedule your return ride 15-20 minutes before you actually want to leave
  • Consider rideshare from Old Town Scottsdale hotels (20-25 minute ride)

  • If Saturday is rained out: Tickets transfer to Sunday
  • If Sunday is rained out: Tickets transfer to the following year’s event
  • No refunds — All purchases are final

The good news? Early November in Scottsdale is historically one of the driest times of year. Rain delays are rare.

🌡️ What to Expect: Daytime temperatures around 75-82°F, dropping to the mid-60s by sunset. Mornings can be crisp—bring a light layer you can tie around your waist. By 2 PM, you’ll be grateful for shade and hydration.

Pro Tips: How to Maximize Your Polo Party Experience

Here’s what veterans know:

After 14 years, the Polo Party has its own culture and rhythms. These insider tips will help you navigate like a regular.

🏆 7 Pro Tips for the Polo Party

  1. Arrive by 9:30 AM — Gates open at 10:00, but early arrival means better sideline parking spots and first pick of lawn seating.
  2. Stake out your spot before Match 3 — The 2:15 PM signature match (Wine Country vs. Wales) draws the biggest crowd. Secure your viewing position by 1:45 PM.
  3. Don’t miss the divot stomp — Between matches, spectators walk onto the field to stomp divots back into the turf. It’s a polo tradition and a great photo op.
  4. Bring a portable phone charger — You’ll be taking photos, using rideshare apps, and checking schedules all day. Battery life won’t last.
  5. Pace your drinking — It’s a long day with Arizona sun. Alternate between alcohol and water, especially if you’re doing the Art & Wine Experience.
  6. Download the event app — Check thepoloparty.com for the official app with real-time schedule updates and venue maps.
  7. Plan your exit strategy — The parking lots get congested after 6 PM. If driving, leave 15 minutes before the crowd or wait 30 minutes for traffic to clear.

Bonus tip for photographers:

The best light for photos hits during the 2:15-4:00 PM window. The 2:52 PM Bentley vs. Horse race provides the most dramatic action shots. Position yourself near the finish line for the money shot.
